FAQs

Start with the room itself. Look at the colours, natural light, furniture, materials and the mood you want the space to have. Some rooms need a calm piece that settles the space. Others need a stronger focal point that gives the room structure.

Artilo artworks are designed for modern interiors, with careful attention to balance, tone, texture and light. If you are deciding between pieces, think about whether you want the artwork to blend quietly into the room or create a more confident statement.

If you would like help, email a photo of your space and the artwork you are considering to hello@artilo.com.au. We can prepare a free room mock-up so you can see how it may look before you order.

Yes. Artilo offers free room mock-ups to help you make a more confident decision. Simply email a clear photo of your room to hello@artilo.com.au, along with the artwork or artworks you are considering.

A mock-up is a practical way to compare scale, colour and placement. It is offered at no cost and with no obligation to purchase.

Artilo artworks are created for design-led homes and considered interiors. They work well in living rooms, bedrooms, dining spaces, hallways, home offices, studios and professional spaces.

The best choice depends on the room’s purpose. A living room may suit a stronger statement piece, while a bedroom often works best with calmer tones and a softer visual presence. If you are choosing for an office or studio, consider how the artwork will support the tone of the space, especially if clients or visitors see it.

In a living room, art often becomes the visual anchor of the space. Look at the largest wall, the sofa or occasional chairs, and any architectural features such as windows, fireplaces or shelving.

A larger artwork can help a living room feel finished and intentional. Smaller pieces can also work well when grouped carefully, but one strong piece is often the cleanest choice for a modern interior.

If you are unsure, a room mock-up can help you compare sizes and see whether the artwork feels balanced with your furniture.

Bedroom art should usually support a sense of calm and personal ease. This does not mean the artwork has to be plain, but it should feel right for a space where you rest and reset.

Consider softer contrast, balanced composition and colours that work with your bedding, furniture and wall colour. Above a bed, choose a size that feels connected to the bedhead rather than floating on its own.

When two pieces both appeal to you, compare them by mood, colour temperature, contrast and subject matter. Ask which one best supports the feeling you want in the room.

You might also consider the amount of visual energy in the piece. Some artworks feel quiet and architectural. Others feel warmer, brighter or more expressive. The right choice is the one that feels visually balanced in your space and personally right to live with.

Most people choose artwork that is too small rather than too large. A well-sized artwork should feel connected to the furniture or wall around it. It should have enough presence to look intentional, without overwhelming the room.

Artilo offers four size options across print-only and framed artworks. Framed pieces have a larger outer size because of the frame profile.

"Studio": Artwork size 457 x 610 mm, Outer framed size 517 x 670 mm

"Gallery": Artwork size 600 x 800 mm, Outer framed size 660 x 860 mm

"Showpiece": Artwork size 700 x 1000 mm, Outer framed size 760 x 1060 mm

"Signature": Artwork size 841 x 1189 mm, Outer framed size 901 x 1249 mm

All dimensions include the frame profile where relevant. Minor variations may occur. If you are unsure which size will work best, we recommend requesting a free room mock-up before placing your order.

Choose a framed artwork if you want the simplest finished result. Framed artworks arrive ready to hang, with the frame already selected and fitted to the piece. This is often the best option if you want a complete artwork without arranging separate framing.

 Artilo framed artworks are available with wooden, black or white frame options. Black frames can create definition and contrast. White frames can feel clean and understated. Wooden frames can bring warmth and softness, especially in interiors with natural materials.

Choose an unframed print if you already have a preferred framer, want to match existing frames in your home, or are ordering from outside Australia. International orders are available as unframed prints only.

Archival-grade printing refers to a fine art printing approach designed for quality, depth and longevity. Artilo prints are produced in Australia using archival-grade materials, so the final artwork has a more refined finish than a standard decorative poster.

This matters because wall art is not only about the image. The print quality, paper, colour handling and finish all affect how the artwork feels in a room.

Artilo is a limited-edition contemporary wall art brand, not a mass poster brand. Each artwork is created with a refined visual direction, produced in Australia using archival-grade materials, and offered in a curated range of sizes and finishes.

The work is shaped by David McConnell’s long career studying balance, tone, texture and light through professional makeup artistry, brand creation and visual design. That trained eye now informs the way each Artilo piece is composed for modern interiors.

Yes. Each Artilo artwork is released in a strictly limited run of 15 prints per size. Once an edition is sold out, it is permanently closed and not reprinted.

Each artwork is accompanied by a signed Certificate of Authenticity, which is mailed separately. Artilo is currently updating the certificate wording to reflect that pieces are limited edition but not individually numbered.

Artilo prints are produced in Australia using archival-grade materials. This supports quality control, a considered production process and a finished artwork suited to contemporary interiors.

Yes. Artilo ships within Australia and also ships internationally. International orders are available as unframed prints only.

 We do not ship to PO Boxes, as artworks require careful handling and suitable delivery arrangements. Shipping is calculated at checkout and may vary depending on your location, the size of the artwork and whether you are ordering print-only or framed artwork.

Artilo artworks are made to order. Production and shipping together usually take 10 to 12 business days.

This timing allows your artwork to be produced, prepared, packed and delivered with care. Delivery times may vary slightly depending on your location and the requirements of your order.

Once your order is placed, your artwork is produced to order, prepared according to the size and finish selected, then packed for delivery. If you have selected a framed artwork, it will be prepared as a ready-to-hang piece.

You will receive the relevant order and delivery updates as your artwork moves through the process.

Artilo artworks are made to order and released as limited editions, so we do not offer returns or exchanges for change of mind.

Damage in transit is rare, but if it happens, please notify us immediately. Email hello@artilo.com.au with clear photos of the artwork and the packaging, so we can review the issue and work towards a resolution. Please keep all packaging until the matter has been assessed.

We recommend choosing carefully, checking the size guide and requesting a free room mock-up if you would like extra confidence before ordering.

Handle your artwork carefully and avoid placing it in areas with excessive moisture, heat or harsh direct sunlight. For framed artworks, clean the frame gently with a soft, dry cloth and avoid abrasive cleaners.

If your artwork is print-only, we recommend keeping it protected until it is professionally framed.

Yes, although art is a personal gift and should be chosen with care. Consider the recipient’s home, colour palette, interior style and the kind of mood they tend to prefer.

If you are not sure which piece to choose, a print-only option can give the recipient flexibility with framing.

We also offer Gift Cards.

You are also welcome to contact us before ordering if you would like a second opinion.

Artilo Art was founded by David McConnell. Before creating Artilo, David spent decades working with visual detail as a professional makeup artist and as the founder of the Academy of Makeup and Gorgeous Cosmetics.

That background informs the way Artilo artworks are created. The same trained eye for balance, tone, texture and light that shapes a face or a beauty image can also shape the feeling of a room. Artilo is the natural evolution of that visual discipline, now expressed through limited-edition wall art for modern interiors.
